Promoting Excellence in Inclusive Musical Provision
Sounds of Intent’s Inclusive Music Education Awards were launched in Spring 2026 to celebrate inclusive music making and to offer Schools and Units a framework to implement inclusive music education.
Aims of the Awards
- Recognise and celebrate high-quality music provision in schools
- Encourage inclusive and developmentally appropriate musical practice
- Provide clear, accessible benchmarks for schools to work towards
- Support professional reflection and continuous improvement
- Build a national community of schools committed to musical inclusion and excellence
How Do the Awards Work?
- Three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold
- Application: Made via Google Form
- Timings: Applications open in the Autumn term (26th October 2026) and are reviewed on a rolling basis until the end of the Spring term 2027.
- Validity: Awards are valid for the next two academic years
