Awards for Schools

Criteria and application

The criteria for the awards have been designed by Professor Adam Ockelford to improve outcomes for students and teachers. While the Bronze level should be achievable by all interested schools, the Silver and Gold awards are there to provide a structure for improving inclusive practice. The criteria focus on four main areas: Learners, Staff, Resources, and Policies. All criteria must be met to gain any award level, however, flexibility is inbuilt to accommodate specialist and unique educational settings.

At Bronze level, there is no requirement to submit evidence. For Silver, three pieces are required and for Gold, four pieces are required. You can explore the criteria and application forms below.
